 Teacher:  Graham Donald

I joined the RSCDS when I was living in my home town of Edinburgh and I danced with the Demonstration team there for a number of years. More recently I have been teaching at dance schools across the UK as well as in Europe, North America, Asia and New Zealand.

In addition to dancing and teaching I have attended other courses with the RSCDS. I am an approved RSCDS adjudicator and I have adjudicated at various festivals in the UK and in Japan. I am also an approved tutor and have successfully presented candidates for each of the unit examinations both locally and at St Andrews.

Dancing is a huge source of fun and friendship and it is always great to meet new friends and renew old acquaintances.

Away from dancing, I have recently retired as managing director of a computer software business in financial services. I now live on the island of Gran Canaria which is part of Spain, enjoying relaxing days in the sunshine.

Musician:  Iain Mckenzie

Iain Mckenzie is well established on the Scottish music scene in Australia and New Zealand. Born in Bannockburn, Scotland, Iain has been playing the accordian to audiences since
an early age and has developed his own exciting and individual style. Brought up in the tradition of Scottish music and dance gave Iain the opportunity to play both in Scotland and overseas thus widening his experience and repertoire, introducing other traditional influences with an established founding in Celtic folk and Scottish dance music. Iain has performed internationally, both solo and with other musicians, playing for dances, ceilidhs, socials and concerts as well as the hosting of musicians’workshops.  Some of the more memorable audiences have been while playing internationally in the likes of Japan and Bolivia as well as playing to royalty in the United Arab Emirates.

Iain is also a passionate composer and has written a number of traditional dance tunes, some of which feature on his CDs or have been recorded by other bands. The latest CD, “The Dancing Bear” features Iain playing a selection of dances including some popular favourites such as “Pelorus Jack” and “Orpington Caledonians”.
